Andrew (Andy) James Stewart, EA - Partner
Andy joined the Kinexus CPAs & Advisors team in 2005. As a firm Partner, he primarily handles tax planning and consultation in order to minimize the tax liability for clients, as well as working with business startups.
Andy has worked in the accounting profession since 1997, when he was a staff accountant with The Boulevard Home Furnishing doing general accounting and payroll. In 1998, he accepted a position with a startup company in California where he managed and operated a Label company performing such tasks as estimating, HR & Billing. In 2001, Andy became the assistant controller with Healthrisk Resource Group, where he maintained the general ledger, performed payroll, managed assets, prepared financial statements, and performed various other accounting functions. In 2005, he returned to Southern Utah to work at Staheli & Gubler, CPAs doing payroll functions, tax return preparation, and QuickBooks & Peachtree data entry. In 2011, Andy became a partner with Gubler & Leavitt, CPAs, now Kinexus CPAs & Advisors, where he assists his clients through a trusted advisor relationship to reduce their tax liability through planning.
Andy earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University. He also earned a general Associates Degree from Dixie State College. Andy is an Enrolled Agent and a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, Business Network International (BNI), and the National Association of Accountants. He is a Varsity Scout Coach with the Boy Scouts of America, a Team Coach for 4H LEGO Robotics Club, and a former Rotary Club Member.
When away from the office, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife of 21 years and his "awesome" six kids. He spends the large majority of his free time with his family, particularly at his kids' extracurricular activities. Some of Andy's favorite pasttimes include going camping with his family and riding ATVs. He also enjoys target shooting and golf...and wishes for more time on the course. He loves to travel and see historical landmarks and interesting sites. Andy also enjoys coaching his son’s LEGO Robotic club team and learning about technology through LEGOs. As his kids and wife would put it, “He is the most devoted father and husband and practical joker around!”
